Flash Firmware using Flash Tool Lite
The firmware on your Intel® Edison is the board’s operating system. Intel® IoT firmware engineers are constantly improving the performance of the Intel® Edison and enabling new features. When you receive a brand new Intel® Edison, update the firmware on the board to get the best developer experience.
This document explains the installation procedure for the Flash Tool Lite for all OS platforms.
Install Flash Tool Lite
The Flash Tool Lite is used to flash the firmware onto the Intel® Edison. In the future, the tool will expand to other IoT products.
Flash Intel® Edison firmware
After Flash Tool Lite has been installed, select an Intel® Edison firmware image file to flash onto your board.
You should now have the latest firmware installed on your Intel® Edison.
