A. Set Up Your Computer
Install software and drivers specifically for your computer’s operating system.
Mac or Linux user? You have no special setup. Skip to the next step below.
B. Flash Edison Firmware
Some Intel® Edison boards have older firmware images on them. Update the firmware to the latest version to get access to important features.
C. Install an IDE
Based on your programming language preference, install an IDE for Intel® IoT development:
- For JavaScript: Set Up Intel® XDK for IoT »
- For C/C++: Set Up IoT Dev Kit Eclipse »
- For Arduino: Set Up Arduino IDE »
Your development computer should now be set up with an IDE and your Intel® Edison up-to-date with the latest firmware.
